The five-minute morning ritual changing our lifestyle.

Small gestures. Consistent presence. How a daily snip became the anchor of the morning.

Mornings used to be a blur of sequence — alarm, phone, coffee, out the door — each part running into the next without a single moment that was actually mine. I didn't notice the absence of that moment until I accidentally found one.

It started as upkeep, nothing more. A quick look at the em-Li before the coffee finished brewing — water level, new growth, anything ready to snip. It took less time than scrolling through one round of notifications. But because it happened at the same point every morning, in the same three steps, it started to feel less like a task and more like a marker. A small full stop before the day properly began.

What surprised me was how little the ritual asked of me. No planning, no equipment, no ten-step routine I'd inevitably abandon by the second week. Just a daily snip — sometimes literal, sometimes just a glance to check on things — repeated enough times that it stopped being a decision and became a rhythm.

That's the part I didn't expect: consistency showing up without discipline. I've tried to build morning routines before, ones that required willpower I didn't reliably have. This one worked because it never felt like effort. It was just there, waiting, five minutes at most, asking only for presence rather than performance.

Somewhere in the last few months, this became the anchor I didn't know my mornings were missing — not the productive kind of anchor that sets up a to-do list, but the quiet kind that just says: before anything else, here's a moment that's calm, and small, and entirely yours.

I still don't have a proper morning routine, not the kind people write about. But I have this. Some days, that turns out to be enough.
